Name: Shauna Leonard Year: Senior Hometown: Henrietta, NY High School: Rush-Henrietta Sport: Women's Lacrosse Leonard is arguably the most decorated student-athlete ever to play her sport at Geneseo, women's lacrosse. The Knights have a sparkling record of 48-15 with two appearances in the SUNYAC tournament championship game during her tenure. The four-year starter is a four-time All-SUNYAC selection, one of just three Geneseo players to earn All-Conference in each of their four years. This season, she led the team with 68 points on 52 goals and 14 assists, including game highs of seven goals and 10 points versus Elmira. Her 52 goals stand second most for a single season and the 68 points ranks third at Geneseo for a single year. For her career, she is just one of two players to surpass the 200-point barrier, finishing with a school-record 156 goals and 55 assists for 211 points. She was a member of the SUNYAC All-tournament team in 2005, served on the Student Athletic Advisory Committee for three years and represented Geneseo at the SUNYAC SAAC meeting in the fall of 2007.
Name: Charlie Hake Year: Senior Hometown: Akron, NY High School: Akron Sport: Swimming Hake has led the men's swimming and diving team to a dual meet record of 39-1 in his four seasons and helped Geneseo to four straight SUNYAC championships as the Blue Wave has extended their win streak to 10 conference titles in a row. The sprinter is now called “the fastest man” ever to compete in SUNYAC swimming as he holds four school records and three SUNYAC conference records, including the illustrious 50-yard freestyle sprint. The 14-time SUNYAC individual champion and team captain qualified for the NCAA Division III national meet in 2008, where he led the 200 and 800-yard freestyle relays to Honorable Mention All-America honors.
Name: Amanda Haney Year: Senior Hometown: Sidney, NY High School: Sidney Sport: Indoor Track Haney is a two-sport star at Geneseo as a member of the women’s basketball and the women’s indoor and outdoor track and field teams. On the basketball court, she finished her career 17th all-time in points with 941 and 14th in rebounds with 506. However, it was on the field in the high jump where this gifted student-athlete shined. She is a four-time All-American in the event, having earned three outdoor certificates and one indoor award. This past winter, just two days after basketball season ended, she used a wild card entry into the indoor state meet, qualified for the ECAC championships on no practice sessions, went to the ECACs and qualified for the NCAAs, where she finished fifth at the national meet to claim her fourth national award. Her top finish is second, last year at the outdoor meet, and she will go for her fourth straight outdoor national certificate at Wisconsin-Oshkosh the final week in May. The elementary and special education major has a 3.07 grade point average and is a member of the SUNYAC All-Academic team. Athlete Archive>>
