Name: Scott Morton Year: Senior Hometown: Syracuse, NY High School: Westhill Sport: Men's Basketball Morton was a second team National Association of Basketball
Coaches All-American this year and a finalist for the prestigious
Jostens National Player of the Year award. A two-time NABC All-Region selection, he stands third all-time at Geneseo in scoring with 1,513 points, second all-time in assists with 447, third in blocks with 136, fourth in steals with 194 and seventh in three-pointers with 135. Morton was the SUNYAC Rookie of the Year in 2005, is a three-time All-SUNYAC performer and was the 2009 SUNYAC and ECAC Upstate Men's Basketball Player of the Year. He was on the all-tournament team for the Gettysburg tournament and was a JP Morgan Chase First team All-Tournament selection. He led the Blue Knights to a 17-9 record, topping the 2009 charts with 20.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.2 blocks per contest. Off the court, he served as the 2009 chair of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, organizing bi-weekly meetings and coordinating each of the four major Geneseo athletics community service projects. His efforts
aided the group to raise nearly $1,500 from Geneseo student-athletes for charities such as the Teresa House, Adopt-A-Family and the National Kidney Foundation. In the summer of 2008, he represented
Geneseo at the NCAA Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida. A
business administration major with a 3.90 grade point average, he is
a multiple time member of the SUNYAC All-Academic team and SUNYAC
Commissioner's List, is a two-time member of the CoSIDA/ESPN the
Magazine All-District I team and a 2009 First team Academic All-American.
Name: Lindsay Dressel Year: Senior Hometown: Buffalo, NY High School: Kenmore West Sport: Swimming Dressel is a two-time NCAA Division III championship participant and earned honorable mention All-American recognition in 2009 as a member of the women's swimming team. The eight-time SUNYAC event champion helped Geneseo to two straight SUNYAC team championships and a 37-1 dual meet record over four seasons. She is a four-year first team All-SUNYAC selection in the butterfly and individual medley events. The team captain holds the Geneseo pool record in the 200 butterfly and holds school and SUNYAC records in the 400 individual medley and as part of the 400 medley relay. The biology major has a 3.35 grade point average and served for two years as the women's swimming and diving representative to the Student Athletic Advisory Committee. Athlete Archive>>
